Hey, as anyone purchased/rented/seen Bob Odenkirk's movie "Melvin Goes to Dinner" as of yet? It's only like twenty something dollars on amazon, I went to my local Borders and did a search, it said $79.99 on their computer, which I'm guessing is wrong. Anyways, I was just curious if anyone has seen it, it looks interesting, Bob is great.

I saw it at a film festival in Chicago. It is AMAZING. Words can't express of how surprised of how good it is.

It's nothing like Mr. Show, but it's really hilarious in a drole, character study-type way. It's based on a play that was just a discussion between 4 people that happens at a table, but the film tries to expand a bit and has the relationships expand out of the table, with some unexpected cameos and a great ending. It is very natural and realistic, it's probably the exact type of film most matured Mr. Show fans are ready for especially if they are not expecting more Mr. Show. I loved it, it's one of my favorite films of the year. The only film I saw that had a similar tone was Lost in Translation, so if you liked that one check this out.

As Bob said on Conan O'Brien: "It's like a porno, but without the sex and with really good dialogue." That's a good way of putting it, I guess. No it's not, but it's funny.

Actually just rented Melvin Goes To Dinner at a Blockbuster in Windsor, CT. It was really well made.

Yeah, I got to see it at Slamdance last year and I LOVED IT!! It was neat to have Bob there and most of the cast members to talk about it!

Though Bob was pissed because the sound wasn't working right, though I didn't realy notice anything.

I thought it was so great! I'll probably buy it at some point, after I can afford food and all..

(first post, btw, hello all!)
