Fans of Tenacious D have been looking for Saxabooms for quite awhile. Here's one on E-bay. "Days to learn, weeks to master"

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=38071&item=3729025353&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

p.s. this isn't spam. I haven't got anything to do with the auction. Just wanted to pass on info to D fans.

I know you're just the messenger, 5". I mean no disrespect to you. But why would anyone want one of these? It's a shitty TOY! If you wanna be like Jables, buy a guitar so you can actually do something CREATIVE.

Oh well. To each his own, I suppose.

Jack Black is over-rated, over-exposed and generally over. (this was originally posted on JoanRivers.com)

But seriously, he reminds me of Tom Green except no one has told JB that his 15 minutes is up yet.

I'd rather sleep with a sweaty she-male than sit through another JB moment.

Did I mention that Joan Rivers is a sweaty she-male? And that I visit her site everyday?

Joan Rivers.... if she has her face pulled taut anymore than it is it'll rip in half.

Am I the only one who thinks Shallow Hal was at least a little overrated?

hatazz...I'm seein some hatazz here...Jack Black is funny and so was Tom Green, the only thing is, for them to have commercial success they have been limited to doing one thing so you never get to see them freely perform. Jack Black's scene in Run Ronnie Run was the funniest scene in the movie haha but that's pretty much just cuz he said cunt a lot. Instead of hating on people that are tryin to do their thing, lets accept them into our hearts and give them huge butterfly hugs?? Can we do that? I used to be anti everything commercial just to be anti-commercial, but then I learned to accept some things if they had some humor in them or goodness in them....it's kinda like communism;)

tom green was funny for about 20 mins. but i got sick of him really quickly. JB can be funny when he has the right people writting for him (bob, david &liam lynch). shallow hal was overrated, but not nearly as much as school of rock.

Other than being overrated at times, I have no problem with the guy really. It's just I was disappointed by Shallow Hal. Here I was hearing all these people saying, "Dude, that movie was awesome" and many similar remarks, but when I actually saw it, I rarely found anything funny. On the other hand, his appearance in "Joke: The Musical" as well as many others on Mr. Show, was great.

How can you guys dog JB like that? Admittedly, his movie career is sort of a shitfest, but remember the D. He's one of the most intense and bizarre performers today.

He's also got a really great voice.

i love the D, but i'm just talking about his movies.

Yeah all his movies seem like parts written for someone else. Except Hi-Fi. That was pretty cool. But that was a Cusack vehicle. JB can't really carry a movie on his own. His talent is more short intense outbursts of extreme creativity and hilarity.

Hey, "Saving Silverman" was kickass! I mean sure it was shit and all. But it EMBRACED it's own shitty-ness! It shoved it in your face and said, "This is who I AM! Now let's get PAST that and have a chuckle at some off shit!"

True, no one can sing like JB can.... well, except comedyprinz of course.

Enough with the comedyprinz jokes.

JB in Run Ronnie Run was lame. It was more of the same old same old....His part in My Dinner With Melvin was really really good. (Buy that movie!).... if you want to talk about his ability to find a new character...what he did in that movie was pretty dark and unique.

Ha, ok. No more comedyprinz then. I just wanted to know what it felt like.... feels creamy.

tjamick
06-10-2004, 03:40 PM
but the cream is getting sour, and who's ever heard of "sour cream"?

Not only does Jack Black have a really great voice, but he's got a really pretty gut too!;)

I declare this thread to be "awesome".

Here's what I don't like about JB... or the D i suppose... They came out with those shirts that say "Clevland Steamers" Isn't that soooo fucking ho-hum comedy?

I like Tenacious D, they are the first folk metal band and i liked school of rock. Tenacious D was based on a TV show on HBO that was Produced by Bob and David

06-28-2004, 03:14 PM
Yeah man, the HBO stuff was pretty good. but why do you call them the first folk-metal group? Where did you come up with that?

3v3+Z
06-28-2004, 03:49 PM
I like to think of it as Arena-Folk.

The D wasn't based on the TV show. You make it sound like they were manufactured like The Monkees. They existed before the show. Ever see "Bio-Dome"? Well, I haven't.

I called them a Folk Metal Group because what else would you call them
