Bob is SO L.A.

David is SO New York.

Ever notice that?

What's my point? I don't know. I guess I think they're both good actors, but David is a superior comedian. I believe this is the result of where they ended up staying; Bob in LA, David in New York. There's something about LA Comedy that gives me the creeps and doesn't give me the laughs. There's no edge there.

I think the fact that David is Hebrewish makes him "SO New York".

I think David's a better actor and comedian, and Bob is a better writer and director. So there.

I agree with what Whateverman said. That's why they were such a dynamic team

Also, the Ben Stiller show is very dated and barely funny, but the "Manson" skit with Bob is absolutely pants-shittingly funny. If you haven't seen the "Manson" skit (where Bob plays Charles Manson as though he were Lassie), please rent the DVD. It's worth it for that one skit.

The Manson skit (written by Bob) is great, as is the TJ O Pootertoot sketch (which David wrote). Most everything else on that show is, as you say, very dated.
