Oh btw...luv tha "more cowbell" icon you've got klaus_kinski...

tjamick 09-22-2005 04:08 PM

I saw the fairyman on Conan a few years back. He was talking about how he's not gay and doesnt understand why people can't understand why a 40 year old man would make a living dressing up as a 4 year old girl and posing wouldnt be a total queen.

Sorry if I offended anyone but look at the countless pics on the site and you'll understand. Julie sent it to me a couple years ago. She always managed to prove that if you look hard enough, you can absolutely find anything on the internet. We always got a real kick out of her sending us links.

Bobs

funny thing is, some guy on another message board i post at says that he's seen that peter pan guy out at clubs and bars and whatnot and that he let the popularity of his website go to his head and now he's the biggest egotistical prick there is even though he dresses up like fucking peter pan.

I was really looking forward to seeing what Julie had been up to know that I came crawling back to this shithole of a website with my tail between my legs...but I never would have expected this...all I can say is a late RIP Julie and send my condolances to all her friends and loved one's. I'm gonna go toast a beer in her memory...better late than never.

P.S. Deep down inside I always knew I'd fuck Paul F. Thompkins given the chance and a vagina.

5InchTaint 10-05-2005 01:20 AM

It's a real smack in the puss, isn't it?

Rabot 10-05-2005 05:17 PM

It's worse than that...and the strangest part is Ididn't even know her very well, yet I lost at least 3 hours of sleep last night and today I have been uncontrolably sad...even Mars Volta won't cheer me up like it should.

We miss you Julie.

Summer 2006

Start saving money kids. We'll be meeting up next summer. Summer 2005 we met up in NY and there were about 16 of us who were able to get together and spend a few days laughing and crying.

Next summer we'll do it all over again.

I actually cried till I laughed!

SSelf 10-19-2005 08:29 PM

Where will you meet up ? I know that Bobby and his wife would like to meet all of you. Texas is really a cool place. Although some of you might have to clean up your act. Bobby works for the San Antonio police department. He's not a policeman he's a CSI. I'm just joking, we all have a strange bond with all of you.

SSelf 10-19-2005 08:32 PM

oh shit Tommy, you just passed Julie . I wouldn't walk outside if I were you.

RRack 11-14-2005 01:04 AM

Jus FYI...

Found out that this Friday the 18th...ugh it just clicked, it happened on June 18th...Anyway, at 10pm central time, the Comedians of Comedy episode on Comedy Central will be dedicated to Julie. Patton emailed me a while back asking if I had pics of em hangin' out. Not sure if they'll use em or have a caption. Either way, very special.

CptPlanet 11-14-2005 01:33 AM

that's awesome of them to do

klaus_kinski 11-14-2005 10:11 AM

That is so great. If it was possible, I can hear the conversation now:

ME: "Julie, they're dedicating an episode of Comedians of Comedy to you!! "

JULIE: "Shudduup..."

Man, she was modest about the shit she cared about. I miss that

"yeah because patton hates me"

Pali 11-14-2005 01:04 PM

I've said it before, but God I wish I'd had the chance to meet her. Even once. I said I would go to that Patton Oswalt comedy central taping with her ages ago, really regret that I never went.

Anyway, the dedication is a perfect gesture.

SSelf 11-14-2005 01:06 PM

She's watching

I know it sounds silly but I truly believe she is here with us. I've read so many books since all this happened. She thought it was so funny to put a rubber band on the kitchen sink sprayer so I would get drenched. In fact before I left that day, she did it one last time. She blamed Kyle, but I know she did it. Now the sprayer goes off on it's own. I'm still getting it without the rubber band. Please don't think I'm crazy, but I feel she looking after all of us.

agent_PUNT 11-14-2005 05:49 PM

A few years ago my cousin was killed in a car accident coming home after a night out.
My aunt had asked her to call if she wasn't going to come home, so that she'd know she was somewhere safe.

Well that night, my cousin never made it home, but my aunt received a phone call in the middle of the night, but there was no one on the other end of the phone.

So I don't know what that stuff means, but it has meaning.

Tommy and I were talking about Julie last night. She was so incredible. One of a kind in the most sincere way. She was so funny that it made me push myself to try and keep up with her.

No one has ever pushed me to try to be funny and creative like her.

SSelf 11-14-2005 06:47 PM

Shes watching

A few weeks after Julie passed at 3:30 A.M. {the wreck happened at 3:30 P.M. } Rocky {her Dad} and Ryan{one of her brothers} cell phones rang. Both of them were the last messages they had sent her . Scarey ......... So many things keep happening. I have to believe they mean something. Julies cat Farley never came out of her room. He wouldn't have anything to do with anyone but her. Now I can't get away from him. He'll sit in my lap and just stair at me. Sometimes I feel like he's looking through me. {yes he was named after Chris Farley} I can't explain it but I feel she is watching.

5InchTaint 11-16-2005 05:09 AM

My heartfelt condolences go out to you, brother. I barely knew Julie and yet, I feel like I have always known her. I'm not trying to be pretentious or anything but Julie was a very special person. It might be corny and/or cliché but I keep thinking of the Billy Joel song "Only the Good Die Young" whenever I think of her. I have never been so impacted by anothers passing so much as Julie's. By that I mean, no one has come up so often in my thoughts as much as she has. The amazing thing is that the thought of her fills me with such happiness and a smile and every now and then when I come upon an old post of her's I get sad but she never fails to crack me up. Her death seems so fucking meaningless but her LIFE seems so meaningful. At the very least, she's effected so many people and in such a good way. I know that statements such as that do little to console you and the fact you lost your sister. Her life meant something. Her life influenced people from all around the world. Her life made us all want to laugh and make others laugh and be happy. You're not crazy to think she's still around. I feel her spirit every day. She is still here with us.

sa3 11-24-2005 01:04 AM

thank you Ms. Self

so i watched the comedians of comedy and made a point to tvio it based on 1) thinking it was fucking funny and 2) wondering who it was dedicated to. Who was she? what happened? So young...

Perhaps such questions are rooted in a morbid curiosity i'm ashamed to say but have no doubt that she is in fact among us.

Consider that i have read the great postings from her friends and family, discovered BUTM by doing a google on Ms. Self and arriving at Channel 101, which i also never knew existed and being a giant fan of edgy comedy (and 40 years old) Ms. Self, who is no longer with us on this plane of existence only, has single handedly guided me to discover a community which i really need to know. (you have no idea: 5 words- i live in columbus ohio)

I have given a few hundred bucks to the Humane Society that was mentioned by her mother, learned about (by all accounts) a funny and illuminating person and discovered a new community.

tragedy, comedy...and the yin and yang of existence continues to roll and both can make you cry. (it seems she might just make fun of what i'm saying right now...and probably is!)

at any rate, all i can say is thank you Ms. Self.

Same happened to me. I'm away from you (Bulgaria) but I started to look for her in the i-net and thanks to this forum I got to know her at least a little. She seemed like a great and talanted girl. Very cute also! I feel sorry I'll never meet her. Rest in peace Julie Self!

CptPlanet 11-25-2005 10:17 PM

thanks for stopping by you guys. she also posted at aspecialthing.com under the same user name (apotatojudge) if you'd like to get to know her a little better.

DIRECT 11-25-2005 10:50 PM

This is a story told by a Julie's friend (from Joking Around with Julie Self (The Group!)):

dad- "why don't you just take your clothes off??" (mad because we were going to a party with barely anything on)

julie - "How else do you think I'm going to pay for college??? ............................. just kidding, I'm not GOING to college!"

korigirl 11-26-2005 06:04 PM

I love you, Julie

Hello, everyone. This is Kori (the girl that made the video so many people had trouble watching and the 'friend' that DIRECT just posted about).

Bobby told me a while back about this website but I couldn't read it all without bawling. Today, I've made it all the way through but still couldn't hold the tears back. This weekend has been difficult for me because I've had the chance to hang out with Leah, a mutual friend of Julie and I. We've done a lot of Julie reminiscing and it makes me happy and sad at the same time.

Reading everything here truely makes me smile. It's really nice to read things from Bobby and Susan and all of her friends she made here.

Susie, if you read this, I will be in town from Dec. 5th - Jan. 3rd and I would really love to see you.

SSelf 11-26-2005 09:17 PM

Kori, I talked to Nick on Turkey day. How cool, Hawaii. He said that he'll be here in a couple of weeks also. I said that we will have one of those get togethers that Julie loved so much. I know Bobby and Leah would love to be here too. To bad Julies Leah lives so far away. Everybody is welcome. Well almost everybody, not the ones who treated her so ugly. I wish some of her BUTM friends could come , we really would like to meet them. I know Chris is in New York, so he won't be here. I have to tell him all about it when he gets back in January. See you soon.

had problems running it on my Mac. However, I managed to burn it to DVD on my brothers system...thanks again Kori...Still very difficult to watch, but amazing!...send me your address and i'll mail a copy to ya if you want...

korigirl 11-27-2005 07:52 PM

ah, Susie. You don't know how happy it makes me that you want to do one of our old get togethers. Leah is trying her best to make it to San Antonio during Christmas and Chris is trying to come also. They are trying to be there at the same time so we might be able to do it while they are there. Elspeth will also be home for the holidays. It would be really nice if some of the BUTM guys could be there.

agent_PUNT, the url to the video is: http://www.korigirl.com/JulieSelf.wmv

If that still gives you trouble, you can also email me (i know Bobby offered this as well) and I can send it to you.

agent_PUNT 11-27-2005 11:18 PM

the video is playing but it is super dark. thoughts?

korigirl 11-27-2005 11:19 PM

your screen resolution? I've watched it on 3 different computers and they've all looked the same and been of the same quality. What OS are you using? What program is it playing in?

korigirl 11-28-2005 12:43 AM

You're welcome. She was (and still is) the best.

klaus_kinski 11-29-2005 06:12 PM

Complete ditto Kori...happy n sad all rolled up in a twisted mess...I'm still trying to semi organize hundreds and hundreds of pics...there are very few serious ones...this is how a typical Easter went...she took advantage of her sleeping younger brother...

Tommy 11-29-2005 08:35 PM

(I think) Kori and me had an online fight.

It was pretty harsh.

No hard feelings.

korigirl 11-29-2005 08:39 PM

haha yes, fun times. I still can't believe Kyle got so big!

Tommy, I've been meaning to send you an apology message but keep shying away from it. I jumped the gun on your message and thought you had bad intentions. I really am sorry, I just wanted to defend her.
