Your least favorite Mr. Show sketch

We all know 99% of the time Mr. Show sketches are right on but which one did you absolutely hate the most. I feel that the one that makes me want to kill myself is Dickie Crickets sketch. It doesn't go anywhere. Electric Sports Bra was funny, but that was it..........

Therein lies the beauty of Mr Show. I looooved Megaphone Crooners. I did not like the "Shake the crime stick" one very much whereas lots of people though it was great. I do agree biosphere was pretty weak.

Ah, I loooove Dickie Crickets!!! My least favorite ones are Biosphere, and the one about the Super Pan- I dunno, just doesn't do it for me (although the link with Bob saying "Only British people can fly" is fucking hilarious)

I was looking at a list of all the sketches trying to find ones I really hate. Ya know, when I watch the show, there's some sketches I like less than others. But it's kind of hard to argue that they're bad ideas, at least on paper (or a computer monitor). Something REALLY bothers me about David's character in the Nils' Guitar Shop sketch, though. Just the way he keeps playing bad "chords" on the guitar and saying, "...wait, wait..." It bugs the shit right out of my asshole! And it's not a GOOD shit either! It takes about 20 minutes to poop it out, then it just doesn't wanna wipe clean, so there's another 10. But ANYWAY, It's a GREAT premise! I just can't hate it! Bobby O. bellowing, "YOU SUCK AND YOU'RE WASTING MY TIME!!!" Fucking beautiful!!! The fact that they only did four seasons and a grand total of 30 episodes at a half an hour each... I mean, it's just easier to maintain that level of quality with those kind of stats than it is for a show like SNL. ANYWAY...

"Story of Everest". That's the right answer. What'd I win?

I thought the following all pretty much sucked:
'24 is the highest'
'Return of the Curse of the Creature's Ghost'
'The Great Philouza'
'Hitler Sings'
'The 4 Voices Within'

I didn't mind the Biosphere sketch. The cartoon animals were kind of corny and unneccesary, but I thought it was hilarious that David's creepy scientist character couldn't get a date with any of the Biosphere chicks. You can't tell me that shit wasn't a little bit funny.

I thought Biosphere played to 12-year old boys who think it would be funny to fuck a goat

i'm almost positive that biosphere was supposed to be satire of most disney bullshit cliches where the main character has problems (not necessarily with getting laid in a biosphere but problems nonetheless) and consults his/her band of cartoon animal friends and ultimately his/her fairy godmother. obviously there's not a ton of substance to the sketch itself other than the aforementioned premise but i still think it's amusing nonetheless (mostly for when david is singing and the birds fly out with the "king loser" sash for him).

Oh, yeah, I get what they were going for with Biosphere. Still, it's not one of my favorites. I always fast forward, or watch that part with the commentary ("Every once in awhile Jay makes up a real word" hehe)

And, hey, Story of Everest and Philouza kick ass! Seriously! I love those sketches.

Fartin' Rudy just doesn't do it for me. That's all I've been able to come up with over the past few days.

"Fartin' Rudy" makes me wonder about something, but I'm not sure how to express it. Let me try it this way: Andy Kaufman used to do stuff that was "funny" (sometimes) basically because of the fact that it wasn't funny. His "Great Gatsby" bit, for example. "Fartin' Rudy" is an example of something that adds another layer to that. Or "Blueberryhead" would be another. There are people who think the only thing funnier than Carrottop is a good, long, stinky fart. B&D are basically laughing at the kind of people who would find that kind of stuff funny. So there's THREE layers there, right? It's funny because it's not funny but people find it funny. What I find myself wondering about is, where do we go from there? As I see it, the next level would be to make fun of the kind of people who would find an Andy Kaufman funny when he's doing something where the "joke" is that he's not funny. Is that possible? Can you make the world laugh at a four-layer irony cake?

Bah, who gives a shit? It ain't fuckin' ROCKET SCIENCE! Now I should throw in a joke about NASA's incompetence in blowing up astronauts and so fourth. That'll take it to the FIFTH level! See, there's people who are ready with jokes the second something like that happens. So SOME people think dying astronauts are hilarious! Level one. then a lot of people find that disturbing. Level two. Then some people who wouldn't laugh at the original joke will laugh at the people who get all uptight about people who find the original joke funny. Level three. THEN people who weren't offended in the first place get pissed at the level threes for dismissing the level twos' honest emotional response as PC BS. Level four. Now, level five only exists IN THEORY right now, since what I'm saying is not funny in any way. But if it were funny, we'd be at level FIVE!!!! And actually, if someone found it funny and you wanted to laugh at them because you're an elitist comedy snob and that's what you do, THEN we'd be up to level... wait, is that six or seven??? I don't know. Somebody call Guiness!!! I need another beer.
